Teen girl injured in Tucson pedestrian accident

While motorists in Arizona do not have to worry about winter weather generating hazardous road conditions, drivers do have to be cautious of an increase of motorists and pedestrians during this time of year. Whether traveling on a major roadway, on a city street or in a residential area, drivers have a duty to drive carefully. This duty is not only owed to other drivers but to pedestrians in the area.

According to recent reports, a pick-up truck recently struck a 16-year-old girl while she was crossing the street. Preliminary reports indicate that the girl was within a crosswalk at the intersection of Grant Road and Swan Road.

A spokesperson from the Tucson Police Department reported that the girl was struck when the truck was making a right-hand turn. The girl suffered injuries in the car accident. However, these injuries are reported to be non life threatening. Currently, the driver of the pick-up truck is not facing any citations, but the investigation of this pedestrian accident is still ongoing.

When a pedestrian is injured in a collision, it is important that the cause of the crash is uncovered. If a negligent driver caused the crash, it is possible for the injured victim to recover recourses. A personal injury claim could help the victim recover compensation for losses and damages arising from the crash.

Pedestrian accidents are likely to have serious injuries, requiring much medical treatment and care. Taking the time to understand your rights following a pedestrian accident does not only protect your rights, but could help a victim secure compensation for medical expenses, rehabilitation and other costs associated from the incident.
