Car accident in Tempe injures several, kills one

Every driver on the road has at some point probably been a witness to an accident, or has even been in one. Most people do not want to experience an accident, but at some level they understand that car accidents can happen without notice to anyone including themselves.

Our Arizona residents likely understand that they are not immune to car accidents. In fact, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, someone is involved in a car accident every ten seconds in the United States. No one can predict the severity of a car accident, and it may range from a simple fender bender with no injuries to a catastrophic car collision which may result in serious debilitating injuries, or even death.

Recently, at least one individual was killed and four others were injured in a two car accident in Tempe. The tragic accident is still under investigation, but preliminary accident investigation reports indicated that the accident happened shortly after 1:00 p.m. According to the Tempe Police, a smaller car that had five individuals in it collided with a pick-up truck. At the time of the two-car accident the smaller passenger car was allegedly trying to negotiate a left turn.

Sadly, as a result of the collision at least one passenger in the smaller car was killed, and four others sustained injuries. They were transported to a nearby hospital. The driver of the pick-up did not suffer any injuries. The accident is still under investigation, but according to the police investigating the accident they do not believe that impairment due to drugs or alcohol played a role.

Regardless of the cause of an accident, the untimely death of an individual can be devastating to family and friends. For many, such incidents make no sense and many are left wondering what could have been done to prevent the loss of life. There are no easy answers in such cases. However, for anyone who has lost a loved one in an accident, or who has suffered injuries themselves, may look into getting more information about legal options in order to determine the right course of action.
