Driver sentenced after bike accident that took Arizona man's life

As Arizona residents consider the prospect of a new year, January is often when people start to think about getting healthy and fit. With that in mind, many people take up cycling to enjoy the scenery and get some exercise. While bicyclists in our state should be afforded safe roadways, we all know that bike accidents do occur, and victims or their families may need to explore their legal options for achieving justice after a crash.

Pile-up accident in Arizona injures 3, including 1-year-old

Numerous vehicles were involved in a pile-up crash in Arizona recently, leaving three people injured, including one toddler. The car accident happened as many vehicles were driving the road -- and one in particular, an SUV, suddenly stopped (the driver claims traffic was stopped in front of her). It is unknown why the SUV did this, but after the stop a car crashed into its rear bumper. Three pickup trucks followed suit, and one of the trucks (which was pulling a trailer) crushed all of the vehicles. The driver of that truck was ticketed for an unknown reason.

Drunk driving arrests, accidents declined in Arizona

Drunk driving is a serious safety hazard and contributes to many car accidents every year in Arizona. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs increases the chances of getting into a car accident, which is why law enforcement officials are trying to crack down on drunk drivers.

Teen drivers more likely to drive distracted

Car accidents continue to pose a serious risk for teen drivers in Arizona and throughout the United States. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that car accidents are the number one cause of death for teens. More than 2,500 teens were killed in car accidents in 2010, according to the CDC, and teens are three times as likely to be involved in a fatal crash compared to drivers age 20 and older.
